What is a Triathlon?
A triathlon is a multi-sport endurance event consisting of three sequential disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running. Getting into triathlon involves several steps, from understanding the sport to training and participating in your first event. Here is a guide to help you get started:
- Understand the Basics
Ensure to familiarise yourself with the structure and rules of triathlon. Learn about the different race distances and what each leg of the race entails.
- Choose a Distance
As a keen triathlete myself, I would suggest starting with a shorter distance race, such as a super sprint or a sprint triathlon as these are easier to train for a don’t require as much time to train for. Doing the shorter distances will help you to gain experience and build up confidence.
Races and Distances:
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 400 Swim, 10k Bike, 2.5k Run
